ARE YOU A COMPETITIVE GOLFER? DO YOU GET IN YOUR OWN WAY ON THE COURSE? DO YOU FEEL LIKE YOU'RE NOT REACHING YOUR POTENTIAL?
LET'S WORK ON IMPROVING YOUR GOLF PSYCHOLOGY.

WHO AM I?

My name is Josh Nichols.

I've been a competitive amateur golfer for nearly 20 years, and started Foundations Mental Performance in early 2019.

I also host The Mental Golf Show podcast.

After years of not playing up to my potential, I started addressing my psychology at a deeper level and learned to practice in more effective ways. This ultimately led to me finishing runner-up at the 2017 U.S. Mid-Am and finishing the year ranked #2 in the WAGR mid-amateur rankings.

I played D1 college golf at Appalachian State University and won 3 events. I've played in 6 USGA events, and have won on the local and state level.

This experience, along with reading and research of the latest psychology science, informs my work with competitive players like you.

GOLF PSYCHOLOGY COACHING

What would it be like to not be in your own way on the golf course?

Do you wonder what to think when you're over that tough tee shot? Or you have the yips and you just can't shake them? Or you're worried about what you'll shoot? Or you're anxious about what others will think?

Or maybe you're just not as good as you know you can be and you're not sure why.

Imagine being able to say "I might not feel comfortable over this shot, but that's ok. I know I can experience tough situations with confidence and come out the other side better than I was before."

Working on your golf psychology will help you:

  • have more robust confidence

  • notice when you've lost focus and bring it back

  • let go of unnecessary thoughts, feelings, and emotions

  • be in the present more often

  • handle pressure better

  • move on from bad shots

Your psychology effects everything in your life, so addressing it can improve almost every aspect of your golf game.

SO WHAT'S THE PROCESS?

  1. Discuss Coaching Plans via email (use the CONTACT JOSH button below)

  2. Take the Mental Game Assessment

  3. Schedule your first session

  4. Begin working through what you've struggled with in the past, where you think you could improve, and specifically how you could work on improving it for future competitive rounds

I work with competitive golfers from all over the world in sessions on the phone or video call.
